Traveling Monsters Vol 8 & 9

The Traveling Monsters is almost at an end. It was so much fun, but I think this rotation went a little too long. March 30th - August 17th.  And this was split into two groups of 10 (there was another whole group that traveled).

It is still fun, but after several, you kinda loose the excitement and run out of ideas. Plus in the summer I was working more because others were on vacation, so I didn't have much time to do anything exciting with the last two.

Daisy came to visit, she is actually from MA, so she wasn't far from home. She has arrived safely back home this past Friday!

Fukashito was a fun one! He is from CA, so he traveled quite a ways to be here and was comfortable with the HEAT!  Fukashito (the Stash Ninja) helped celebrate my hubby's birthday.

All in all, it was a ton of fun and I can't wait for my little one to get home!!

Traveling Monsters Vol. 7

This is Scrappy.  Scrappy is from Florida, so didn't mind the heat we've been having recently.

I wasn't a very exciting host for Scrappy.  We only went out to run errands.

While doing that I stopped at the local ice cream / seafood place for my favorite, a Raspberry Lime Rickey.

And I showed Scrappy the duck pond there.

Traveling Monsters Vol. 6

This is Tutulli's visit, she hails from Texas.  Quite a ways from here.  We took her up to the White Mountains in New Hampshire.

The weather wasn't great, it rained a bit, but that cooled things off.

We helped my SIL make brownies.

We checked out the pond.

Lots of frogs, tadpoles, variations of tadpole/frog, newts!!  Don't know if I will swim in there again any time soon ...

We played Zombie Dice.

We checked out the bear (we have a smaller version - cub at home - didn't see the real bear(s) this visit.

We popped around the property and checked out the pretty wild flowers.

And the Lunar Moth.

And some other fuzzy moth ...

And some more flowers ...

And then the weather cleared up ...

Traveling Monsters Vol. 5

Cookie came to visit from Ohio. I didn't have a lot of time to take Cookie out, but she did come out to visit with my other sister who was up from FL.

My sister and her friend (she was staying with) came out my way on the train, which saved me a good 1.5-2 hour  drive.  On the way back there was no train for 3 hrs or so at the station near me, she had asked me previously if I could drive them to another station to get back (which is right near the ice cream place ... is where my mind immediately went to).

We hung out there for a bit and had ice cream of course.  We went looking for the peacock, he wasn't in the pen with the other animals (probably avoiding the numerous field trips and LOUD kiddos).

We found him hiding in the trees nearby.  I guess he liked having his photo taken, because when I stopped to go back and pick up my purse off the walkway, he called out ... and scared the bejeezus out of me!

And I went back and took  more photos ...

And almost stepped on a chippie.  I thought he was going to climb right up my back while I was squatting to get photos of the peacock.  I don't know if he's used to people being around or what, but he was fearless.

And poor Cookie was like hey I thought we were here to take photos of me?!?!

Traveling Monsters Vol. 4

This is Aubrey, she hails from Tennessee.  She got to meet my sister from who was up from Florida who I haven't seen in 5 years since my dad retired and they moved down there.

Memorial Day we had a small cookout (just the two of us) so while hubby was grillin' I took Aubrey around the yard and amused us while I was waiting ...

She enjoyed checking out the flowers that have been blooming recently.

She especially liked the purple one.

She checked out the swing/seat my inlaws donated to us recently (they don't use it much I guess ... fine with  me, LOL!).

She inspected my husband's recent installation of a border around the French drain.

We looked for frogs in the frog pond.

I had a long drive to training recently for work and took the scenic route home to avoid traffic.  There's a (well many) small town along the way and there was this fabulous lookout.  So on the last day when we got out a little early, I took Aubrey with me and we stopped.

It was a gorgeous day ...

She really enjoyed the view.

But we had to get going back on the road ...

Traveling Monsters Vol. 3

This is Sophie, she's a half sized hippo from Nashua, NH (not all that far from us).  She did a great job of cheering me on while I finished up the Master Hand Knitting Program.

She enjoyed checking out the yard and the flowers.

And she traveled to the gathering in New Hampshire for Mother's Day and hung out with the moms.

She came to the showing of the 1982 film The Last Unicorn on the big screen.

Stopped by a poster on the way out.

And got to meet the author of the book and get my book signed!!

Traveling Monsters Vol. 2

Meet Juliana Lovebot. She hails from Nebraska, she had a stop in Wisconsin before coming here.  Upon arrival, Voodoo made sure she was comfortable.

We went to one of our favorite ice cream places, its locally famous.  Chocolate peanut butter (frappe) is my all time favorite, how they get the peanut butter (yeah its real peanut butter in there) to stay smooth while frozen, I dunno.

We stopped to see the animals.

She had a great time watching the goats and their antics.

And the beautiful peacock, though he was not inclined to strut his stuff and show off his feathers ...

And we met a new friend in the gift shop ... who consequently came home to live in my purple room ...
