Armpit Knitting

Seriously though, cool tutorial.  I believe this way of knitting was used a lot in Victorian times, but they used a belt to hold one of the needles.

I know a couple of people in my knitting group who knit like this. The people I come across who use this technique tend to be knitters who are either older or taught by older relatives how to knit. My knitting teacher used to anchor her needle at the hip between the leg and torso. There are so many ways to knit!

My Oma was an armpit knitter. Many of the needles we inherited from her were bent beyond saving :)
