Celaeno is done!!! It has to be blocked, but it is finally cast off. This hasn't been on the needles really long (like years), but with all the beads it seemed to take FOREVER. Even the cast off row has beads, 153 to be exact. Doesn't seem like a lot, but it takes much more time to place a bead than just knit or purl.
Here's a close up of the beading on the edge. I was much more comfortable with charted beads than the garter stitch sections, which said to place beads randomly ... random and I just don't get along. I really prefer symmetry.
I have a new addition to my computer/yarn room. Say hello to Jack Skellington.
He sits at the adjacent wall to Capt. Jack Sparrow. Now all I need is a poster of Capt. Jack Harkness from Torchwood and it'll be a Trifecta of Awesomeness.
And the best part ... he glows in the dark.

... or a trifecta of Jacksomeness! (Sorry, I couldn't resist)
Pretty, pretty shawl. I'm with you on the need for order and symmetry - random is hard!
Hahaha. A trifecta of Jacks is a great idea. The shawl looks lovely!
Gorgeous shawl! I don't like "random" either, requires too much thinking!
The shawl is beautiful! The beads really are worth all that effort. I am like you and prefer a planned bead attack to randomness.
It always feels good to finish a shawl. Beautiful!!
LOL...random and I don't get along well, either. I got teased about it when a friend and I were making bracelets. The beads had to be symmetrical; I couldn't just string them randomly! The shawl is gorgeous!!
I love your shawl and I love that you beaded it.. I;ll bet that beadwork is really amazing.
Celaeno is such a gorgeous shawl, and I love the colour you chose!
And HI JACK! Just in time for the best day of the year, eh ;)
