We have some lovely, friendly visitors to our yard. Now, we're not "lucky" that we get some of these beauties, we have specifically planted the right plants to attract them :o)
This is a beautiful specimen of a female Tiger Swallowtail.
She hung around this Echinacea for quite a while, I was happy to be able to run back in and grab the camera and get photos. I also got some video footage I will have fun editing later.

Beautiful pictures. I love the splash of blue in her "tail".
How lovely, and so lucky to have her sit for so many shots. I mostly seem to find the shy, neverous type that dashes off as soon as I raise the camera.
Beautiful, how lucky you are to have a lovely visitor like that, with the cold and wet summer we are having there are not many butterflies around

They are so gorgeous! My mom planted butterfly plants but we haven't gotten many visitors because of the weather - some common whites, but...
So pretty! I've planted Butterfly Bush in an attempt to lure some of the Monarch butterflies that migrate through our neighbourhood, but so far, no luck!
